About Us
George Road Clinic is a Private Clinic located in the heart of Birmingham, in the quiet, leafy suburb of Edgbaston, just a few minutes from Birmingham New Street Station, we have our own, private car park and bus and rail services are just a short walk away.
In this single location, we offer a range of Medical Services, all of which can be accessed by self referral without long waiting times to some of the top Consultants in the Midlands.
Our services are conducted from a splendid Georgian House, traditionally refurbished to a high standard and this, together with our friendly, welcoming team helps set us apart from a typical medical consultation environment. Where required, we are CQC registered and compliant.
Ranging from Private GP services to Cataract Surgery, Physiotherapy and Podiatry, we have recently launched our Mental Health service, which will be expanding its range of services over the next 12 months.
Services Provided
Midlands Infant Feeding
Pauline has worked in a variety of clinical settings which includes nursing in hospital and in the Community. She nursed premature babies, children’s nursing, adult nursing, midwifery and in general practice. This has given her broad general knowledge on many aspects of health, illness and recovery.

Although no longer practicing as a qualified midwife, Pauline uses her knowledge and experience of birth and feeding practices in her current role as a Board certified lactation consultant and tongue tie practitioner. Until recently, Pauline was the Specialist Infant Feeding lead for an NHS Community Trust, a post held for 14 years, leaving to concentrate solely on her private practice in supporting families with all aspects of infant feeding.
In this role, Pauline has supported mums and babies with all aspects of breast and bottle feeding and ran a virtual breastfeeding support clinic. She has delivered training to Health Visitors covering all aspects of breastfeeding, bottle feeding and tongue tie management, in addition to devising pathways around supporting mums to manage challenges such as mastitis, and
weight issues with their babies.​
Pauline has also supported many mums and NHS colleagues utilising her specialist knowledge as a lactation consultant to help with issues such as building milk supply, re-lactation, faltering growth, reflux, and recognising and treating various allergies.

Our Senior Clinician, Mike Garmston, has over 30 years experience, including Olympic Team and International Sports rehabilitation.

We offer a comprehensive assessment and diagnostic service with a range of treatment options, which is supported by on site Ultra Sound Scan facilities and Isokinetic muscle and joint testing.
The aim of the Clinicians at Birmingham Physiotherapy will be to tailor the treatment programme to your needs to help you get back to your normal activity levels quickly whilst helping you take steps to prevent a re-occurrence.

Midland Cardiac
Several years of experience in the field of Cardiology and has been a Consultant Cardiologist at Freeman Hospital NHS Trust since 2001. Dr Javed Ahmed has considerable experience in the field of cardiology for several years has developed expertise in all aspects of clinical and Interventional cardiology including: Coronary angiography, Coronary angioplasty and Stenting.
Professor Javed Ahmed is one of three Consultants within Midland Cardiology.

Podiatric Rx
Mark was Clinical Lead for Podiatry at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham from 1998-2011. This service focussed on the musculoskeletal and mechanical overuse conditions associated with varying activities. The role also involved dealing with post operative foot and ankle complications following surgery and also a paediatric caseload and these specialist areas form the key conditions
In addition to the trauma and musculoskeletal group of patients Mark is also involved extensively in sport related injury. Running related injuries form a large part of the workload seen across the various clinical sites in the West Midlands and London.

Mark works in professional football and is part of a Championship level medical team. Mark also works on a consultancy basis for both domestic and international level teams and provides input onto the Exercise and Sports Medicine Masters Football module at St Georges Park in Burton. This is a course for those involved with, or looking to be involved in professional football, for both mens and ladies teams.
